Bumble Swipe Limit | How Many and When You Get More
Finally understand how many swipes Bumble gives you and what you can do to get more!
Does Bumble have a swipe limit?
Want to know how long till you get more likes on Bumble?
So, you're seeing a screen that says "you’ve hit the end of the line." Don’t worry, nothing's wrong or broken.
In order to help foster more genuine, quality connections for its users and encourage more intentional swiping, Bumble incorporated a daily swipe limit. They believe the more thoughtful their users are about swipes, the more likely they are to strike up conversations that lead to meaningful connections.
What is Bumble's daily swipe limit for a non-premium subscription?
Bumble limits basic users to a 25 swipes limit per 24 hours.
This is a rolling swipe limit for right swipes, no penalty on left swipes, with each swipe being replaced or replenished approximately every 24 hours. So, if you use 1 right swipe at 2:10PM you will get that swipe back again the next day around 2:10PM.
If you happen to use all of your allotted 25 right swipes in the 24 hour period and get your out of swipes message, your swipes will start coming back based on when you used your swipes the previous day. You will receive an message saying you've hit the end of the line and will have to wait until tomorrow to start swiping again unless your upgrade to a paid plan.
Bumble uses an algorithm that limits swiping right (indicating interest) too frequently without meaningful interaction, which they viewed as potential spam behavior. This is intended to improve the experience for all users and foster matches that users intend to act upon.
What constitutes meaningful interaction on a dating site?
On dating platforms like Bumble, meaningful interaction usually involves more than just swiping right (expressing interest) on profiles. Here are some behaviors that might be considered meaningful interaction:
Sending Messages
If you match with someone, sending them a thoughtful, personalized message can be a good way to show you're genuinely interested and not just mindlessly swiping.
Responding to Messages
It's also important to respond to messages you receive. This can demonstrate that you're actively engaged in the app and interested in getting to know the people you match with.
Profile Activity
Regularly updating your own profile, such as adding new photos or updating your bio, might also be considered a form of meaningful interaction. It shows you're actively using the platform and making an effort to present yourself to potential matches.
Taking Time Between Swipes
If you're swiping right on every profile as quickly as possible, it might look like you're not seriously considering each potential match. Taking the time to view each profile before deciding whether to swipe left or right can be another form of meaningful interaction.
Upgrade For More Swipes and Likes
Once you hit your daily swipe limit, you will have to wait 24 hours for your swipes to reset (e.g. if you hit the limit at 8 pm your swipes will refresh at 8 pm the next day). If you would like to continue swiping, you can get unlimited votes with a Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium subscription.
If your swipes don’t reset after 24 hours, reach out to the Bumble Support Team so they can get you back up and buzzin’. Here is how to get in contact with their team:
- Directly within the app through the "Contact & FAQ" button.
- Email their Support Team here.
What is SuperSwipe?
SuperSwipe is a premium feature that lets you tell a potential match you’re confidently interested in them. Here’s how it works:
- You can sign up to Bumble Boost, Bumble Premium, or purchase SuperSwipes independently by tapping on the option on the main menu screen under your profile photo.
- Once you've selected the option for you, head into your swipe queue and tap the star icon on someone's profile to let them know that they stand out.
- After you activate a SuperSwipe, the other user will be notified that you're interested in getting to know them better.
If you have Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium, you get five SuperSwipes and one Spotlight per week to use as part of your subscription.
Note: With Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium subscriptions, Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and replenish weekly on the day the original subscription purchase was made. For example, if you purchase a subscription on Tuesday, you'll lose access to any unused Spotlights and SuperSwipes the following Tuesday, but you'll receive your new batch that day as well for the next week!
